IV Therapy

When it comes to chronic illnesses, administration of nutrients especially in the intravenous (IV) or intramuscular form can turn the tide. Nutrients (vitamins, minerals, amino acids, etc.) work by activating various enzyme systems in the body. Taken orally, you can raise nutrient level to a certain extent. However, if given parentally (IV or intramuscular), those levels can be raised significantly higher activating those enzyme systems that may not be possible with oral route.

Nutritional therapies are used for various ailments. Nutrients work two ways:

  • To correct nutritional deficiency
  • To have a physiological effect. Nutrients have therapeutic value just like medicines do. Remember, wherever there is a drug to treat a symptom, there is a nutrient or combination of nutrients that can resolve that symptom. Just as we have medicines for headaches, hypertension, and muscle/joint pain, there is a nutrient or a combination that can relieve these problems.

So, this is the rationale for nutritional therapy.
