 “The key to controlling respiratory allergies in the form of asthma and hay fever, is serial dilution allergy testing. If you had allergy testing done in the past, it was more than likely a traditional allergy test, putting a scratch on the back and/or forearm.  On the other hand, a more precise and advanced method is called serial dilution testing, where the patient is tested for multiple dilution one after the other and that can pinpoint the treatment dose to treat allergies.  Most people can get well within a few injections if they have just inhalant allergies.  If in addition, they have food allergies or other sensitivities then it just takes a little bit longer to sort those things out and treatment them.”

When Luke was two years old, he started taking inhalation therapy at home, usually three to four times daily, occasionally as often as six times daily. He was sent to ABC Hospital in Kansas City (we decline to use the real name of the hospital for legal reasons) for a full diagnosis and treatment plan. We followed their plan, but the Asthma got no better - even worse at times (last summer was his worst summer) and he had frequent infections requiring antibiotics to cure pneumonia and bronchitis infections. The hospital plan treated symptoms only. With all the advancements we are still having about 4000 children die from asthma that is one of the easiest diseases to treat. There should be practically no mortality. I bet all those who died and all those who are suffering were never given a chance to treat the cause. Pills and puffers are not the answer.

Until I started seeing Dr. Sultan to find out what my problems were, I'd been getting sick every 6-8 weeks.  I'd have all of the symptoms of the flu but with no fever. After being diagnosed as being sensitive to petro carbons and allergic to dust, mold, mildew, fungus, dog, cats, cigarettes, perfumes and glycerin, I started on sublingual drops and allergy shots.  My Candida problem was diagnosed about 2 years into my treatment, and I was put on a no sugar diet with Nystatin.  We also found out that my thyroid gland was not working and so started on thyroid therapy.  My total treatment duration was about 7 years but I am now free of any problems associated with my sinuses, bronchial tubes, thyroid gland or the Candidiasis.  As Dr. Sultan once told me, "You didn't get sick overnight, so you won't get well overnight.  If you're willing to find out what causes your symptoms, you'll eventually find the relief you desire."

When I first came to Dr. Sultan, I had many symptoms -- Asthma, fatigue, runny nose, really bad headaches, hay fever, and many more things.  He found I was allergic to dust and molds and I have low thyroid.  He found also that I have magnesium deficiency.  

By taking care of these feel better.  I have more energy and can do more things.  Over the weekends I used to sleep all day until 4 pm.  Now I get up early in the morning and can go all day without getting tired.  In two months, I had started feeling so much better that I ran 1 mile in 11 minutes, 12 seconds for the first time.  I used to take several asthma meds daily even up to 6 at one time.  Now I needed my inhaler only once.  I know I am not over yet and I still have to watch what I breathe, eat and drink.

Respiratory allergies and infections can make life miserable putting you through the cycles of antihistamines, decongestants, and antibiotics. It is so easy to treat the cause, which is usually inhalant allergy like dust, molds, pollens etc. We use an advanced method of allergy testing called Serial dilution testing. Here, you test with multiple dilutions of various antigens to find a treatment dose. Once treatment dose is found it is matter of 4-5 injections to reach the maintenance dose, and that often means beginning of relief even though you may have been suffering for years.

Inhalant allergy is one of the simplest allergies to treat. However untreated, it is responsible for numerous sufferings like runny nose, stuffy nose, frequent respiratory infection, antibiotics, repeated visits to doctor, coughing, wheezing, difficulty in breathing and asthma attacks etc. Typically, these problems will be treated with antibiotics, antihistamines, and inhalers. To treat allergies, I say that it is 90% inspiration and 10% perspiration. However, in case of inhalant allergies it is 99% inspiration and 1% perspiration because all you really need to do is take the allergy injections. With new method of immunotherapy, you can get better within a few injections.

I no longer am having to go to a psychiatrist for depression. I no longer have the hives. I was taken off Synthroid and put on (desiccated) thyroid. The thyroid medicine was increased from 1 grain to 2 grains. After starting the allergy shots, my blood pressure became normal. I have not had any wheezing in the bronchial tubes. So, asthma has improved. With the corrected dosage of thyroid and the mineral deficiencies corrected I have more energy and feel better in general. We all know that low thyroid is an important cause for depression. Even though patient has low thyroid, still depression gets treated by the psychiatrist. In our experience synthetic thyroid like Synthroid may not give the optimum relief and instead switching to Armour Thyroid which has two hormones T4 and T3 vs. Synthroid is only one hormone-T4 patient do much better and this was a turning point in improving her depression. In your normal frame of mind, you will never think about going to an allergist for hypertension, but the truth of the matter is that environmental, nutritional and hormonal factor affects the body as a whole and after immune and nervous system the next most important organ in system involved is the cardiovascular system. Taking care of underlying causes like low thyroid and magnesium deficiency can improve hypertension and again reducing the need for blood pressure medications. To have clean air, do not smoke and use green products in cleaning and personal care. Remember, do not breathe what you cannot eat. What would happen if you drank Lysol, pine-sol, or gasoline? If you cannot drink it, don’t inhale it either. That is where green products come into picture like no fragrances, no perfumes, use baking soda, washing soda, borax etc. in cleaning as examples of green products

I have been doctoring for over eleven years with various medical doctors to treat a chronic cough. I was treated for allergies with every allergy and asthma medication. I have even been treated with immunotherapy - IgE & IgG injections and IV's. None helped the cough and post-nasal drip. I had many symptoms, such as bronchial asthma, recurrent vaginal yeast infections approximately 24 (once a month), itching and swelling of eyes (6 years), urinary tract infections for 7 years, fatigue, canker sores, gas and bloating for 1 year and headaches, also chest pains which turned out to be from food.

The single most important cause for respiratory allergies is inhalant allergy like dust, molds and pollens etc. There are basically two methods of allergy testing-traditional allergy testing and serial dilution testing. Traditional allergy testing is typically very insensitive and misses a lot of allergies and cannot quantify allergy. On the other hand, in serial dilution testing, multiple dilutions are tested which makes it more sensitive and helps to pinpoint to the right treatment dose. Instead of taking injections for years to see a response, you can start seeing the response within a few injections like 4 or 5 injections and this is the point where recovery starts and need for medications minimized.

Jeff is only 9 years old, but during his short life, he's known a lot of sickness. As a baby and toddler, he had frequent ear infections and upper respiratory infections. He's always had mood swings and tended toward "hyper" behavior. At age 5, he was hospitalized with bronchospasms and had several "asthmatic" type reactions during the next 2 years. Look at this child who is 9-year-old and up until the age of 9 years he suffered and suffered and suffered. Besides this, frequent respiratory symptoms, and respiratory infection a dominant feature was “hyper” behavior with mood swings. This is again a typical case of neuroimmune disorders where the immune system as well as the nervous system is being affected. One of the complications of untreated respiratory allergies in children is development of hyperactivity, ADHD and ADD in later years. 30% of children are now classified as “mentally sick”. I assure you that none of them allergy has ever been suspected as a cause. The end- result is these children end up with Ritalin or Ritalin type medications and don’t accomplish very much academically.
