Dr. Tipu Sultan, M.D.
Dr. Sultan began practicing medicine in the metropolitan St. Louis area in 1975 as a pediatrician.
Beginning in 1979 he incorporated Environmental Medicine into his practice and since then has been treating children and adults suffering from many chronic ailments.
Dedicated To Finding The Cause
Dr Sultan’s approach is very simple: “Find the cause and treat the cause – that’s how patients will actually get better”
This approach fundamentally differs from the care that most patients receive which is to treat conditions with medications often designed to merely suppress symptoms. Examples of symptom-suppressing treatments would be antacids for heartburn, inhalers for asthma, or pain relievers for headaches. For all practical purposes, these medications do little, if anything, to address the underlying cause and instead are prescribed to help control the symptoms until the condition goes away on its own.
What if the chronic condition or its symptoms persist?
They often do precisely because the underlying cause remains unaddressed. The fact is that many conditions, whether mild and occurring on occasion or severely debilitating and persistent, have an underlying cause rooted in one’s environment (environment being what you eat, drink, breathe and touch). Dr. Sultan’s practice, and Environmental Medicine in general, goes further by addressing the underlying cause of illness and providing true long-term relief.
Dr. Sultan’s goal is to make real improvements in the lives of his patients, and he expects his patients to judge him based on the outcomes achieved. Click here to see what his patients think.
