What Is The Purpose Of Pain?
There is no purpose in pain if somebody else has to patch us up! There is no purpose in pain if it does not teach us to fix what is broken. There is no purpose in chronic pain or any chronic symptom if it does not force us to be increasingly responsible for our wellness.
Environmental Medicine is all about looking for underlying causes.
What are those causes, how are they affecting you and what to do about them is the goal.
When done well, you will not only see improvement in your debilitating symptoms but also reduction in need for symptomatic drug therapy. It is that simple! Most common causes for chronic conditions like chronic fatigue, fibromyalgia, digestive upsets, colitis, arthritis, asthma, sinus trouble etc. lie in our environment.
Other causes of chronic illness are dietary, nutritional and hormonal in nature. Since most physicians are not taught to diagnose and treat the environmental causes, cause is never found.
Consequently, patient gets treated symptomatically and disease continues to progress.
As patient develops more illness, more medicines are given and if medicines cause side effects, more medicines are given. This starts a vicious cycle.
To break this cycle you have to go to the basics i.e. treat the cause.
