Depression

Back

We all have occasional blue days, where we don't feel like doing much, or being around others. When this feeling becomes persistent and begins to seriously affect our lives and relationships it could be considered severe depression. Even mild depression is nothing to ignore, but the severe form can cause marital problems, job loss, alcohol abuse and even thoughts of suicide. Depression is one of the most difficult medical problems to diagnose or treat. Depression manifests itself in mood oriented symptoms including anxiety, panic attacks, anger, crying spells, fatigue or an overall spacey feeling. Depression can be related to hormonal or menstrual cycles; however, it has been found that often persons suffering from depression also suffer from allergies like hay fever or skin disorders including hives and eczema which may be food oriented. Thus, depression may be linked to food allergies. One approach to treatment is to look at depression in relationship to food allergies or exposure to environmental factors such as chemicals. Once the cause is determined, treatment can be administered which can mean the difference between a living hell and enjoying life to the fullest. This quality of life cannot be accomplished by covering up the symptoms. Depression is not Prozac Deficiency Disease. One of the greatest discoveries made in the field of Environmental medicine is that contrary to the usual belief most mental illnesses (the serious kind) are not caused by psychological factors. Instead these are caused by physical causes and some of those causes are mentioned above. That is why by treating the underlying causes many patients who have been suffering from mental symptoms for years can get off psychiatrists’ couches and start enjoying life once again.

Please see for yourself that the most common causes of depression, the serious kind, do not include psychological factors but physical factors.  See how many lives have changed for the better by treating the underlying causes by reviewing these success stories and the case studies that follow:
