Autism

Back

There are several neurological developmental disorders that are characterized by "severe and pervasive impairment in several areas of development," including social interaction and communications skills. Depending upon the symptoms and the severity these disorders are given different names like Autistic Disorder, Asperger's Syndrome, Rett's Disorder, and PDD.

Autism is the most common of the Developmental Disorders. Its incidence is somewhere between 2 -5 per 1,000. Especially in the last 2 decades its incidence has skyrocketed.

There are numerous reasons for this marked increase in incidence. Some of the most common causes include mercury contained in childhood vaccinations in the form of Thimerosal, excessive use of antibiotics causing Candida overgrowth, leaky gut, gluten and casein sensitivity, nutritional deficiencies to name a few. An excellent source to understand the underlying causes regarding all these neurological disorders is the book “Biomedical Options for Children with Autism and Related Problems”. It is available through our office or DAN (Defeat Autism Now). It is a must read book for all parents, physicians and teachers who care for such children.
